This article explores the transformative impact of modern technology and online assessments on higher education, focusing on the shift from traditional educational methods to advanced digital platforms. It examines how technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and mobile applications have revolutionized education, offering scalability, real-time feedback, and personalized learning experiences. Using a survey-based research method, data were collected from 367 sophomores across four faculties at Universitas Terbuka to assess their digital readiness, challenges, and expectations. The findings revealed significant variations in digital readiness and expectations for interactive and flexible learning environments, with notable differences across faculties. The study underscores the need for targeted strategies to enhance digital competencies and support systems to ensure equitable access to digital learning tools. These insights provide actionable recommendations for educators, developers, and policymakers to optimize digital learning experiences and address current and future educational challenges.
